Media Design

This term I have been taking media design. I wanted to learn more about the adobe creative suite and how different aspects of the media come together. While I am still taking the class, I want to share some of the projects I have already completed. InDesign and Photoshop are the programs used in this class.

Newsletter

This first gallery is a newsletter I put together. For this assignment, we had to choose a topic to create headlines for. Naturally, I chose Colorado sports teams, all ones that play locally in Denver. The goal was to create a cohesive newsletter with the design skills we had learned, not to write about them, this is why filler text was used. Some of the objectives were to focus on media that uses only text and use different typefaces that cohesively work together. I, of course, still have lots of room for improvement.

Biographical Poster

This assignment was to create a cutout on photoshop, insert it into InDesign, and do wrapped text. I used my LinkedIn profile for the text and utilized pull colors from the outfit I was wearing. I wanted it to be simple.

Logo Redesign and Brand Book

We were assigned the task to redesign a logo for a local store or shop in either in Eugene or where we are from. I chose a local ice cream shop and completely changed the vibe of the logo and colors.

Mini Magazine

I was tasked with making a mini magazine utilizing the skills we had learned through the term. I chose to focus mine on cooking because that is something I deeply enjoy. We only had to write the headings and sub-heads, as this was focused on the design and not the content. I used InDesign and Photoshop for this project, and all the images are from Adobe stock, besides the picture of myself. It was fun to choose the photos, typography, and decide where everything should be placed. You can click on the images to take a closer look.
